Why might colors vary?
Color is one of the key elements in interior design. It has a profound impact on the atmosphere and visual perception of a space, so we fully understand that our clients expect perfect results. However, it's important to remember that subtle color variations between individual wallpaper designs are entirely natural and result from technological processes and the properties of the materials.
Ordering custom-made wallpaper is a serious step – that's why we offer you the option of ordering a sample.
We'll provide you with a sample of the design printed on the same material, with the same color depth, texture, and quality. This allows you to test whether it matches the room's lighting, furniture, and interior style.
No risk. No rush. No surprises.
Where do the color differences come from?
The wallpaper production process is a technologically advanced stage influenced by many factors. Even when maintaining the highest standards, color variations can occur for several reasons:
- Printing technology – each batch of wallpaper is created using the digital printing process, and slight differences in machine settings or ink consumption may affect the final result.
- Backing material – wallpapers are available in various textures and weights, which reflect light differently. The texture of concrete, canvas, or handmade paper can create a subtly different color appearance.
- Light reflection – a smooth surface reflects light differently than a matte or embossed surface, which may cause differences in color saturation and temperature.
When are the differences most visible?
We know from experience that the most noticeable color variations occur with subtle and neutral colors. Differences may be particularly visible in:
- shades of beige and gray,
- powdery roses,
- garnets and graphites.
These are colors that react particularly strongly to the type of light and surface structure, so they may appear slightly different depending on the conditions.
Light and surroundings matter
The environment in which the wallpaper is located also has a huge impact on the perception of color:
- Light color – warm lighting can give gray a greenish tone, while cold lighting can give it a cool, bluish tint.
- Colors in a room – the colors of furniture, floors, or adjacent walls can reflect light and subtly change the perception of color.
How to get the best effect?
To make sure that the wallpaper color meets your expectations, it is worth following a few simple tips:
- Order a wallpaper sample – especially if you want a specific shade or a match to your existing décor.
- Test the color in the target location – view the sample in different light (natural and artificial) to see how its perception changes.
- Remember natural variations – even within the same collection, minimal colour variations are normal and reflect the unique nature of the product.
